Piotr Morciniec, former president of the Polish ESCT section, professor of the University of Opole, was awarded the Pro Doctrina Theologiae Medal in 2024 by the Senate of the Theological College of Pécs (PPHF).
This award, established in 2011, is granted to individuals who achieve outstanding work in the teaching, dissemination, and social representation of Christian theology and philosophy. The award was presented by ESCT president and PPHF rector Gusztáv Kovács during the conference titled “Sport, Ethics, and Spirituality”.
Since 2009, Piotr Morciniec has actively participated in the scientific and community life of PPHF. He has been very active in the active support of international student exchange and has become well known through his international bioethics summer schools in Opole. He has been involved in organizing several conferences and teacher training programs in Hungary. Thanks to his efforts, the Hungarian version of the Game-X-Reloaded board game was created, and he also actively contributed to the pedagogical processing of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s works. His academic and teaching achievements are widely recognized both in Hungary and internationally. His connection to Pécs is further strengthened by his membership in the Theology Working Group of the Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and in the editorial board of the Central European Theological Review.
